Ask GOD First: He Knows, He Sees, He Provides
Seek His face, trust His heart, and rest in His perfect will.

We should ask GOD first for all we need and want and diligently seek GOD’S provision and direction.
Sometimes we want to lean on others, and I have seen others use “ask and you shall receive” as if they were GOD. But the scripture in full context tells us to ask Him, not man.
GOD doesn’t deny us or humiliate us like man does. He tells us to ask in secret, and He will bless us.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
Yes, we would like things done quickly, so we want to ask others. But them saying no may be GOD’S protection.
Sometimes the “no” that frustrates you is the very thing that protects you from something you cannot see.
Remember, GOD’S children are the apple of the Lord’s eye. We cannot do as the world.
“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.”
Asking Our Father Is Humbling
Asking our Father is humbling.
Just think of how you come to your father. You think about how you are going to ask, gather up all the reasons for your need or want, and wait for the yes or not now or the revelation if it’s not for you.
There is something beautiful about knowing that you can come before GOD and simply ask.
You do not have to manipulate Him.
You do not have to convince Him that He is GOD.
You do not have to compete with anyone else for His attention.
You simply come to your Father.
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.”
That is personal.
That is intimate.
That is between you and GOD.
Ask GOD Before You Ask the World
Sometimes we run to people before we ever run to GOD.
We ask everybody else what they think.
We search everywhere for answers.
We try to figure out how we are going to make something happen.
Then after exhausting ourselves, we finally say, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
What if we asked Him first?
What if we prayed before we panicked?
What if we sought His direction before seeking everyone’s opinion?
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
GOD should not be our last resort.
He should be our first request.
GOD Can Use People to Bless You
Asking GOD first does not mean GOD cannot use people.
GOD can absolutely use people as instruments of provision.
The difference is knowing where your help truly comes from.
People may be the vessel, but GOD is the Provider.
One beautiful example is the widow whose husband had died and left her with debt.
She came to Elisha because she had a need, and GOD provided through what she already had in her house.
“And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.”
GOD multiplied what seemed insignificant.
She did not need to have everything before GOD could provide.
She needed to obey.
Sometimes we are looking for something new when GOD is trying to show us what He has already placed in our hands.
GOD Sent Elijah a Raven
GOD’s provision does not always arrive in the way we expect.
He sent Elijah to a brook and commanded ravens to feed him.
“And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.”
“And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.”
Think about that.
GOD used ravens.
The Provider can choose whatever vessel He wants.
That means you don’t have to control how GOD provides.
You only have to trust the One who provides.
GOD Can Send Help From Unexpected Places
GOD also provided for Elijah through a widow at Zarephath.
“For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.”
Again, GOD provided.
Not because the circumstances looked abundant.
But because GOD had already spoken.
When GOD says He will provide, you do not need to know every detail of how He is going to do it.
What If GOD Says No?
This is where faith becomes difficult.
We understand asking.
We understand receiving.
But what about waiting?
What about “not now”?
What about “no”?
Sometimes the answer we do not understand is the answer that protects us.
Like the angel of the Lord blocking the donkey and Balaam getting mad because GOD had already told him not to go with them.
Balaam wanted to go.
But GOD had already given direction.
The angel of the LORD stood in the way to resist him.
“And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him.”
Balaam became angry with his donkey because the donkey kept stopping.
But the donkey was seeing something Balaam could not see.
The donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way.
Eventually the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes.
“Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand.”
Imagine being angry at the very thing GOD was using to keep you from danger.
Sometimes we do the same thing.
We become frustrated when a door closes.
We become angry when somebody says no.
We become discouraged when something doesn’t happen when we want it to.
But what if GOD is standing in the road?
What if the closed door is protection?
What if the delay is direction?
What if the rejection is redirection?
What if GOD knows something you cannot see?
GOD’S No Is Not Jealousy
Remember this:
GOD’S no is never because He is jealous of you.
GOD’S no is never because He envies you.
GOD’S no is never because He wants to humiliate you.
GOD’S no is never because He doesn’t have it.
His no can come with protection.
His no can come with wisdom.
His no can come with mercy.
His no can come because He knows what is ahead.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Trust GOD With What You Cannot Understand
We may not understand every closed door.
We may not understand every delay.
We may not understand why one person says yes and another says no.
But we can trust GOD.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
There is safety in allowing GOD to direct your path.
There is peace in knowing that you don’t have to force every door open.
If GOD wants you there, He knows how to get you there.
If GOD wants to provide it, He knows how to provide it.
If GOD wants you to wait, He knows what He is preparing during the waiting.
And if GOD says no, trust that His no is not designed to destroy you.
Ask GOD ALMIGHTY
Asking GOD is the remedy to our problems.
He can use people to bless us.
He can send provision through unexpected places.
He can multiply what we already have.
He can close a door that would have harmed us.
He can send an angel to block the road.
He can use a raven to feed us.
He can use a widow to sustain us.
He can use the smallest thing in our hands and multiply it.
But the thing in all situations is this:
GOD is the One who sends.
So ask Him.
Seek Him.
Wait on Him.
Trust Him.
And when He answers, remember Him.
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
GOD’S Yes Is All You Need
Remember GOD is all you need.
His yes comes with love.
His provision comes with purpose.
His direction comes with wisdom.
His correction comes with care.
And even His no can come with protection.
Do not allow the world to teach you to chase people before you seek your Father.
Do not allow rejection to make you forget that GOD hears you.
Do not allow a closed door to convince you that GOD has abandoned you.
Do not allow somebody else’s no to become your reason to stop asking GOD.
Ask your Father.
He knows what you need.
He knows what you want.
He knows what you cannot see.
He knows what is coming.
He knows what will hurt you.
He knows what will bless you.
And He knows exactly when to say yes.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
ASK GOD ALMIGHTY.
Don’t be afraid to ask Him.
Don’t be ashamed to need Him.
Don’t be discouraged when the answer is not immediate.
Don’t become angry when the answer is no.
Trust the Father who sees what you cannot see.
He sees.
He knows.
He cares.
He provides.
And whatever He sends, receive it with gratitude.
Whatever He blocks, trust Him.
Whatever He asks you to wait for, wait faithfully.
Whatever He tells you to release, release it.
Ask GOD First.
