“Not playing with your salvation should always be that deep, too religious & that serious!”
Let me explain.
Some strongholds are serious and hard to break. Some sins are even hard to recognize once you are engulfed in them. They settle in quietly. They normalize themselves. They convince you to make excuses for them or minimize the depth of them.
The Bible warns us about this deception:
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” — Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV)
Sin rarely announces itself loudly in the beginning. It disguises itself.
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” — 2 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV)
That is why abstaining, avoiding, and confronting things that you feel are not right before the Lord’s eyes may look “too religious” to others — but it is peace for you and your soul.
“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)
If protecting your soul means being called extreme, then be extreme.
Because when sin is running rampant, it is never quiet. It produces shame, pain, and severe consequences.
“For the wages of sin is death…” — Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“Be sure your sin will find you out.” — Numbers 32:23 (KJV)
Sin may whisper in private, but it screams in consequence.
So yes be religious loudly and unapologetically.
Because the fear of the Lord is not weakness. It is wisdom.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” — Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)
But let me say this carefully.
Being “too scriptural” in a way that blinds you to what God is doing right in front of you can also mean you are in the way.
If you are so rigid that you cannot see angels among you healing, correcting, dismantling injustice, restoring minds, and giving peace then you may not fully understand the Scriptures you claim to defend.
Abraham saw the angel of the Lord.
“And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him…” — Genesis 18:2 (KJV)
He ran to meet them. He bowed himself. He fed them. He washed their feet.
Lot also recognized the angels.
“And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house…” — Genesis 19:3 (KJV)
By honoring them, he saved his household.
Even Balaam’s donkey saw the angel of the Lord when Balaam could not.
“And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way…” — Numbers 22:23 (KJV)
The donkey feared what the prophet did not perceive.
Sometimes pride disguises itself as “knowing Scripture.”
But true understanding requires humility.
“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” — Proverbs 3:7 (KJV)
All I am saying is this:
Take your salvation serious.
Take your relationship with the Lord serious.
“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” — Philippians 2:12 (KJV)
Remember it is your soul you have to live with day to day.
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Matthew 16:26 (KJV)
